Q. Could you explain about interface condition, or interface
condition of RS232C signal, for Nonstop power supply?
A. Interface condition of Nonstop power supply other than NSP7 series is as
follows, Refer to this in developing Nonstop power supply monitoring
software.
Following actions are required to interconnect PC with Nonstop power supply.
1)AC input fail detection signal (=Negative) to be sent to PC from
Nonstop power supply when blackout occurs. 2)PC activates the timer to
await recovery of AC input upon receipt of the above 1). 3)If AC input is
recovered during awaiting recovery of AC input, normal operation is resumed.
4)When recovery awaiting time has passed, shutdown of applications and OS is
performed. 5)In the case that Nonstop power supply has sent the signal of
DC input fall detection (=Negative) to PC from Nonstop power supply during
recovery awaiting time, the action of 4) above shall be performed without
delay. 6)Send all DC output forcible shutdown (=Positive) signal shall
be sent to Nonstop power supply from PC at the timing when power shutdown of
PC is acceptable.
* In the case that the
signal is unable to be controlled at the timing when power of PC can be shut
down, shutdown shall be performed by APM (Advanced Power Management).
